UNIBlimp © ® — A Low Energy consuming Prototype
Uniblimp©® is the result of a decade-long quest for ultra-low energy consumption, minimal aerodynamic drag, and extended flight autonomy. This user-friendly system requires minimal logistics and no specialized training to operate. With a top speed of 60 km/h and over 2 hours of flight time, it easily carries diverse sensing equipment. It supports various autopilot upgrades, while a larger version can integrate solar cells and a ballonet for even greater endurance.
The Trans-Atlantic Solar Blimp Project
Aero Drum Ltd co-engineered and delivered specialized envelope solutions integrating ultra-lightweight flexible solar cells for high-autonomy flights. Our focus on minimizing helium permeability and structural weight allowed the prototype to maximize solar collection efficiency during long-endurance testing phases.
Eco-Friendly Open Ocean Tracking
Partnering with environmental organizations like Greenpeace and The Ocean Cleanup, we designed fully non-invasive, silent aerial tracking platforms. Equipped with remote sensing equipment and cameras, these custom aerostats monitor wildlife migrations and ocean plastic accumulation without polluting or disturbing marine ecosystems.

Heavy-Lift Airship Structural Consulting
Our team provided extensive technical design consultations and structural component manufacturing for advanced UAV projects, including the Skylifter heavy-lift platform in Australia. Our Belgrade facility specializes in zero-leak high-frequency double welding, making us a key supplier for complex LTA experimental designs.
National Geographic – Saint Sava Temple Aerials
In October 2008, Aero Drum Ltd., in collaboration with the renowned photographer Mr. Dragoljub Zamurović, conducted an aerial photography mission of the Saint Sava Temple in Belgrade. The project was commissioned to illustrate building illumination across various European cities. The aerial shots were captured using high-resolution Canon G9 (12 Mpx) and Canon EOS-1D Mark III (21 Mpx) cameras, utilizing specialized angled shooting positions for optimal perspective. Where Blimp Efficiency Meets Fixed-Wing Speed
Developed for the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. For this pioneering project, we designed and manufactured a high-performance, 4.5-meter Zeppelin-shaped envelope engineered for seamless integration with their hybrid flight system. Turning Imagination into Flight: Custom-Shaped Inflatables and Robotic Blimps
In 2022, we developed a unique Blue Whale RC Blimp for the Perlan Museum in Reykjavik. Built entirely from scratch, this project required complete in-house engineering—from the initial drawing board concepts to custom Arduino programming, an innovative motor mounting and control system, and full-surface digital envelope printing. We are thrilled that our creation continues to bring joy and wonder to the children visiting the Perlan Museum.
A Unique Airship Featuring Side-Mounted Motors and Multi-Redundant Safety Systems
The development of our flagship 12-meter outdoor airship spanned over three years of intensive engineering. The final result, however, is more than worth the effort. It features an exceptionally stable hull design with a wide horizontal payload distribution (acting much like a tightrope walker’s balancing pole for maximum wind resilience). Additionally, it is equipped with a high-output rear reverse motor for ultra-fast directional changes and a comprehensive safety system—including a pressure safety valve, emergency safety spool (100 m), and aviation navigation lighting.
